The son of former Brazilian representative Jia Bolsonaro and the grandson of a former Brazilian dictator, is lobbying the US government to sanction Brazil’s Supreme Court justice, which accused him of claiming Bolsonaro in an attempted coup in 2022.
“I’m opening the door, I’m a heart, but you’re a brain,” Eduardo Bolsonaro, the former president’s third son, told businessman and journalist Paulo Figuereit in a YouTube video discussing an ES campaign against the judiciary. Figueiredo’s grandfather, João Figueirre, led Brazilian military command from 1979 to 1985.
“You, Paulo contributed to Lotto,” he himself continued to be a deputy in Brazil’s lower parliament in a video published on Figueiredo’s YouTube channel on May 27th.
Both men require the US to impose sanctions to impose sanctions on Brazil’s Supreme Court justice. The court was accused this week of questioning former President Bolsonaro, who was in office from 2019 to 2023, slamming him for taking power and leading an armed conspiracy to overturn the 2022 presidential election.
A violent mob of Bolsonaro followers broke into a government building in the country’s capital, Brasilia, on January 8, 2023, struck the incident that reflected the riots at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, when Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
The prosecution has alleged that the failed plot has to do with the presidential election, leftist leader Louis Inacio Lula da Silva, his vice president, Gerald Alcumin, and plans to assassinate or arrest Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Mores, who is currently leading the trial against Bolsonaro. Like the US riots, the Brasilian rebellion was preceded by months of injustice and fake news allegedly striving by Bolsonaro and his closest allies, who tried to cast doubt on the integrity of votes and election authorities.
Bolsonaro was cross-examined by prosecutors and magistrates, including Moraz, at this week’s hearing in Brazil’s U.S. Supreme Court. I denied any involvement in the coup conspiracy, justifying his claims of voting fraud and threats to election authorities, placing them both in his rhetoric and temperament.
Seven other co-conspirators who served as former presidents, including four former ministers, an army general and a former prime minister of the navy, are on trial. To date, more than 30 people have been instructed to date about their role in the alleged coup d’etat, including figures that the prosecutor’s office issued a warrant.
Figueiredo, who has been living in the US in recent years, temporarily partnering with Trump to build a luxury hotel in Rio de Janeiro in 2014, has also conducted research to spread fake news about the results of the 202 election. I denied fraud and described the indication as “part of the blackmail campaign.” […] and my efforts to raise awareness of the American people and government about me and the ongoing descent into the Brazilian dictatorship.
On May 26, the Supreme Court launched an investigation into alleged coercion and obstruction of justice by Eduardo Bolsonaro after Kurask in the prosecutor’s office, accusing him of interfering with criminal cases against his father and “trying to sabotage the technical work” of fake news investigations. Eduardo you deny all allegations and say the study proves that “Brazil is no longer a democracy.”
The investigation begins two months after Eduardo Bolsonro announced that he had seen him seek asylum in the United States, leaving his role as a federal representative in the state of Sao Paulo. At the time, he said he was targeted by Moraes. He accused him of seizing his passport as part of an investigation into a suspected attempt at a coup. Moraz refused to confiscate his passport.
It appears that Bolsonaro and Figuie-Eid are now using their influence in Washington to ask the US government to issue sanctions against Moraes in order to pursue a lawsuit against them and Bolsonaro. In a video posted to his YouTube channel in March 2024, Figueiredo said that Jair Bolsonaro began visiting the US Congress “in search of support” shortly after his loss in the 2022 presidential election.
So far, the efforts of the two men seem to be working, raising serious questions about the US’s power to undermine democracy around the world. A few days before the investigation was opened to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Eduardo Bolsonaro, he said there was “great potential” explained by Trump and other Republican allies.
Important temptation in the US Congress
During a hearing in the US Congress on May 21, Republican Corey Mills asked Rubio. US law allows economic sanctions and travel restrictions to be different for foreigners involved in human rights violations and corruption.
Rubio replied: “That [sanction] It is currently under review and it may happen. ”
A week before the exchange, Mills met Figuereo and Bolsonaro and the president of Philippe Barros, the Brazilian House of Representatives’ Foreign Relations Committee in Washington. “This interaction is the result of real world results, and it’s not just word of mouth,” Eduardo Bolsonaro said in a video recorded with figure eild after the meeting.
Eduardo told viewers that Mills, who chairs the International Relations Information Subcommittee, is vrying near Rubio.
Figueiredo added: “It was a very objective meeting and I was really printed. [Mills] A familiar lawmaker in Brazilian situations, all of this Ant’s work shows that knocking on the door already has fruit.

Asked by AgênciaPublic how the US’s moves against the judiciary would affect the case opened against him in Brazil, “I can’t apply for anything, so it has no impact. I have not yet been formally summoned in a lawsuit and have heard of the accusations from the press.
“I am a legal resident, legally resident at an address known to Brazilian authorities, and have been operating in the United States for over a decade, and am waiting for a subpoena in accordance with an international agreement. The illegal orders against citizens protected by it are one of the basis for action for international sanctions.”
Two days after he told Congress that sanctions against Morae were being considered on May 28, Rubio considered the existing new visa restriction policy for foreign judicial justice judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial judicial
In an official statement on the policy, Rubio said, “Today we are announcing a new visa restriction policy that applies to foreigners responsible for censoring protected expressions in the United States. Citizens or residents made on US platforms while being physically presented to US soils.”
Together in the US against Brazil
A few hours after Rubio, I mentioned the possibility of approving Moraes. Brazilian MP Filipe Barros, an ally of former President Bolsonaro, has suggested on social media that the comments were the result of the Bolsonist’s lobbying efforts.

However, in an interview with Agencia Public, Baros said Rubio’s speech was “convincing” that Moraes’s desion was driven by the impact it had on American citizens and businesses. “That’s not a reaction to the January 8th process,” he said. “This is a response to a committed violation by Judge Alexander by Moraes of the rights of US citizens and companies.”
Last August, Moraz ordered a freeze on Starlink and X’s bank accounts owned by right-wing billionaire Elon Musk after X failed to pay Puy Ademal issued for violations that did not violate previous Brazilian court decisions. He also banned Brazil’s X for six weeks. This is because they rejected a court order to revere users who would expand the names of legally necessary Brazilian legal representatives. The account is unzen and X was allowed to continue operating domestically after agreeing to pay $3.3 million.
Barros said I noticed “their concerns about US jurisdiction” in a meeting with Mills and Republican Republican Brian Mast to discuss “the political context as a whole.”
Baros met with a delegation of Brazilian members on the Free Market Parliament Front in early May with the executive director of SpaceX, another company owned by US masks. The anonymity of sources and Kurask attending the declaration said the US attendance was “a very angry Bacchus.”
They added that [firms] He is struggling with Justice Moraes’ decision.”
In February, in exchange for Musk at X, Figueiredo made the forest that the Magnitsky Act could apply Agaless Moraes.
Olabo de Carvalho’s heir
The use of US law to punish Moraes reflects the first ideas that existed by Brazilian far-right journalist and ideologue Olabo de Carvalho who dieted in 2022. “
Just four years later, Figueiredo said on one of his YouTube channels, “I’m absolutely deling to follow up Professor Olabo de Carvalho’s ideas,” and said, “Do you think Olabo is dead? I don’t think Olabo died.
Like Carvalho, Figueiredo first gained vision in mainstream media. Carvalho began his career writing columns for major newspapers such as Forja de S. Paul Commander in Chief to take part in the coup. Today, Figueiredo is hosting a YouTube show and discussing politics.
There is a similarity between the two men. Carvalho lived in the United States for 17 years. Figueiredo has been there since 2016. Carvalho once ran an online course on astrology and philosophy. Figueiredo offers online courses on politics and history related to far-right ideas, which he reported in January that he was offered directly to seven Borsalist lawmakers on the eve of Trump’s inauguration last year.
In March 2021, Carvalho praised Figueredo with the X. “Congratulations to Paulo Figure Aid on his course, “The End of America.”
