The Real Brokerage has hired Spyglass Realty, a technology-driven independent company led by Ryan Rodenbeck.
Spyglass’ 140 agents doubles Real’s presence in Austin, Texas. Rodenbeck reported 2024 sales of nearly $400 million, according to a Jan. 16 statement.
Real introduced a number of new models last year that allow intermediaries to become part of the fast-growing company, aimed at faster integration and marketing alternatives to the long-standing industry standard of partnerships and franchising.
Spyglass enters through a private label program. This gives independent brokerages access to Real’s in-house software solutions and their incremental efficiencies while maintaining their existing consumer brand.
“Ryan’s early adoption of technology and relentless focus on empowering our experienced agents has transformed the way real estate is done,” Real president Sharan Srivatser said in a statement. “Given Ryan’s commitment to leveraging leads and fostering a culture of referrals, we are confident that Spyglass Realty will not only redefine the gold standard in the real estate industry, but consistently remain one of the top employers in the city. The ranking is no surprise and we are thrilled that Spyglass is now part of Real.”
Rodenbeck spoke at Inman Connect Austin in October and told Inman before the event that his entrepreneurial spirit was driven by a desire to increase efficiency and modernize the real estate model. A self-confessed “tech geek”, Real was drawn to the Real brand because many of its in-house solutions are rooted in AI-driven efficiency.
“Many of the big brokerages have standard technology, but I would buy my own technology because I wanted to be more efficient, professional, and have better tools. It was an adapter,” Rodenbeck said in October.
Now part of Real, Rodenbeck said he looks forward to applying the technology wisdom of his new partner to expand its footprint in Central Texas.
“The Real Private Label program allows us to go beyond what we currently offer while maintaining the brand we have worked so hard to build as an independent brokerage firm,” he said. Ta.
Rodenbeck is also known for the industry content network #RealtyHack. The company produces the #RealtyHack podcast and the #RealtyHack Summit, which Real said is “Austin’s largest real estate conference with over 400 agents.”
He is also an incoming board member of the Austin Board of Realtors, and Spyglass has been recognized for growth in multiple years, including on the Inc. 5000 and the Austin Business Journal’s Fast 50.
