This is an active part of how learning experiences are developed and delivered. However, many educators and trainers still don’t know how to actually use these tools. Often the problem is not the AI itself, but the prompt.

Each of these dimensions forms the way AI supports learning. Instead of relying on copy pasting prompt expressions, the Pentagon Framework encourages an adaptive and structured mindset.
Example: Training small business owners with AI
Take common use cases from small business training programs focused on digital marketing. Imagine that the learner inputs this into an AI tool. “Create a marketing campaign for my business.”
The response may be too general and there is no audience segmentation, channel strategy, or content tone. It’s irritating, right? However, guidance from the Pentagon framework makes the prompts more thoughtful.
Generate a 4-week email marketing campaign for local bakeries specializing in gluten-free pastries. It will focus on increasing pedestrians and promoting new seasonal menus. Include the subject and the subject that prompts you for an action.
Now, AI can generate relevant and practical output that can be used by learners right away. In an e-learning environment, this approach helps small business owners not only learn AI tools, but also build confidence to use them as creative partners. Now, AI has a clearer path to follow. Instead of disposing of AI, teachers consider the possibility that they are key players in curriculum design.
The same applies to workplace training. Corporate trainers who implement AI-powered tools may first ask, “Please help me create training on digital collaboration.” But when they add dimensions from the Pentagon framework:

When given the right direction, it becomes a thinking partner in the creative process. The Pentagon framework is not just a technique, it’s a change of way of thinking. This helps educational designers, faculty and workplace trainers move towards past frustration and strategic and creative use of AI.
As AI adoption grows, those who learn to shape prompts effectively become those who unleash their potential completely.
