BEIJING – China has strengthened its tone following the Trump administration’s opening salvo in trade tariffs.

The US has also suspended so-called minimal exemptions, making it more expensive for Chinese e-commerce to ship products directly to US consumers.
A Commerce Department spokesman urged the US on Thursday to create a “fair and predictable” environment for cross-border e-commerce.
