The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Enterprise Development Agency (MBDA) has announced the winners of the 2024 Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Awards. The National MED Week Awards are the highest level of national recognition that U.S. minority businesses can receive from the Department of Commerce. These prestigious awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of ethnic minority businesses, as well as individuals and organizations committed to the development of minority businesses.
The annual national MED Week conference kicks off this week (October 20-26) in Atlanta, where policymakers, MBEs, and their advocates collaborate on strategies for economic empowerment and long-term wealth creation .
“The Minority Business Development Agency and I are thrilled to be in Atlanta to celebrate both the minority businesses and individuals that make up this great national community,” said Eric Morissette, deputy assistant secretary for Minority Business Development. said.
“With continued and broad support from our partners at the White House and NMSDC, and expanded resources, including the latest series of incubators and accelerators in the Capital Reserve Program, we will increase the returns and capabilities of underrepresented businesses, We are committed to securing a strong return and are well-equipped to succeed in our country’s economy.”
National MED Week serves as a springboard for hundreds of local MED Week meetings across the country. These local and regional conferences are sponsored by state and local governments, for-profit organizations, and nonprofit organizations. Today, National MED Week is widely accepted and synonymous with quality and support for the recognition and growth of minority businesses.
