Chubb’s multinational insurance business has a new leader

Chubb announced that Tim Benson (pictured) will join the company as vice president, multinational insurance, effective October 30.
Mr. Benson will oversee overall strategy, underwriting, product and business development across large, midmarket and small businesses, as well as wholesale accounts within Chubb’s multinational book of business.
He will be based in Chubb’s Philadelphia headquarters and report to Matthew Myrna, President of Major Accounts North America. Benson and the multinational team will work closely with Chubb’s Global Services Group.
Mr. Merna shared that Mr. Benson’s extensive industry experience and long-term service with Chubb has been an asset as the company’s multinational insurance business unit grows and evolves.
“Tim’s track record of success and proven leadership skills at Chubb make him a perfect fit for his new role. We look forward to seeing him bring the full scope of Chubb’s multinational capabilities to our clients and distribution partners. We look forward to seeing it,” added Ben Rockwell, president of Chubb Middle Market.
Mr. Benson succeeds Laura Best, who has been with the company for 20 years.
“We are extremely grateful to Laura for her many years of service and the valuable leadership she provided during her tenure at Chubb,” said Myrna. “She has been a trusted partner and a key player within our multinational operations and Dallas office. We wish her all the best in her retirement.”
Benson brings more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry to this role. Previously, he served as executive vice president and chief revenue officer of Chubb’s middle market division. Benson has held multiple leadership roles throughout his career at Chubb, including various positions within the field distribution and data analysis teams.
From 2011 to 2019, Benson led the middle market and small commercial underwriting team focused on international risks for U.S. multinational corporations. He also led Chubb’s global services organization. He began his career in corporate finance at Chubb in 2005.
