Ms. Brown began her career as a research assistant at the Institute for Social Research in 2007-2008. He then served as a team manager and intern at the University of Michigan Summer Engineering Academy from 2008 to 2009, and then as an engineer. He served as an academic and residential facilitator at the same academy from 2008 to 2011.
In 2010, Ms. Brown served in multiple roles, including Administrative Assistant for the University of Michigan Health System Department of General Practice and Academic Success Partner for the University of Michigan Leaders and Best Program. She also gained experience as a teaching intern at King Elementary School and Allen Elementary School during this time. From 2011 to 2012, she served as a study guide at YouthQuest and taught science and computer classes at Faithway Christian School.
Ms. Brown continued her teaching career at Academy of Flint from 2012 to 2014, where she taught second grade and served as an after-school teacher for grades one through three. She then joined Grand Blanc Academy as a 5th grade teacher from 2014 to 2020 before moving on to her current role as a special education teacher at the school. At the same time, she worked as Marketing Director for an online shopping club from 2020 to 2023 and has continued her involvement with Active Boys in Christ since 2020 as a grant writer, curriculum developer, and consultant. In 2022, Ms. Brown began leading summer camps with Resil. Inc. “Camp Reezil” provided STEM education, creative arts, and financial literacy to youth in Flint, Michigan.
It was Ms. Brown’s educational background that laid the foundation for her professional accomplishments. In 2011, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in integrated sciences with a major in mathematics and a minor in elementary education from the University of Michigan, followed by a master’s degree in education in special education with a focus on learning disabilities from Eastern Michigan University. I got it. She attributes her success to her strong faith in God, which has helped her overcome personal and professional challenges.
In addition to her primary profession, Ms. Brown is a sought-after conference speaker known for her expertise in education and professional development.
