Using digital assessment tools for teachers saves teachers time, attracts audiences, and makes life a little easier. No matter what type of assessment you need, there are tools to help you. I also organize my favorites by goal to make it easier to choose the right tools.

Formative and comprehensive evaluation
Before sharing the best digital assessment tool for your teacher, let’s talk about the differences between formative and overall assessments. Teachers use formative assessments more than any other type and check understanding throughout the learning process. This allows you to coordinate teaching and learning activities to better meet the needs of your students and find out which students need a little extra support. A comprehensive assessment is a formal test and final project that evaluates the student’s learning at the end of a unit or course.
1. Goal: I would like to know what students learned during today’s lesson.

2. Goal: I want to enjoy the evaluation.
Free online quiz game generator Kahoot is extremely popular and for good reason. Teachers will show questions and students will answer using completely secure apps on their devices (such as Chromebooks and smartphones).
Kids absolutely love these games and are a great way to enhance classroom engagement. After the game is over, teachers can take a closer look at the results in reports to determine if the child still needs to support the master. Learn how to use Kahoot! 3. Goal: I want to evaluate my reading comprehension.
Commonlit’s huge free library of reading passages comes with built-in quizzes to test for your understanding. Select an article by topic, reading level, or type and assign it to a student. They create annotations and use guided reading questions when working on the text, finishing it off with reading quizzes and discussion questions.

4. Goal: I want to hear from students and see them share what they have learned.
Flip (formerly Flipgrid) is a social media style video discussion platform that is perfect for generating class discussions about topics, videos, or links posted to a class grid. Students can video-record their responses for sharing with teachers and classes. It’s a great tool to help students to see their ideas.

5. Goal: I want to check in easily during lessons.
Mentimeter allows you to add voting, Word Clouds, Q&AS and more to your presentation, vote/respond to questions, and create an interactive experience for students who can be involved in the presentation in real time. This has become a list because there is a huge variety in the types of formative assessments that can be provided in real time.

6. Goal: I would like to listen to students’ readings to assess their urgency.
Literally, students read aloud and answer questions on their devices (almost every device works). Within 24 hours, get running records with scores for accuracy, flow ency and understanding. Free basic accounts include 10 read ratings per month.

7. Goal: I want to check the slides to understand.
Pear Deck is an interactive presentation and lesson delivery tool. Students use their devices to follow the teacher slideshow on classroom screens. Throughout, teachers can pause at points with added interactive questions and collect real-time data on student understanding.

8. Goal: I want a personalized quiz for my students.
The quiz is standard tagged, allowing you to efficiently track your acquired data from all questions answered so far. They support official state standards such as Common Core, Teks and more. Additionally, you can add tips and explanations to learn as your child completes the assessment.

9. Goal: I want to test it online or quiz.
If you’re looking for a technical tool for student assessments that includes many options, try Socrative. Can include multiple choice, true or phallus, and short answer questions. I love how student results are displayed in real time. If the student is incorrect, you can add an explanation. Students can get immediate feedback. Alternatively, you can create a quiz at your own pace or lead yourself. Our Favorite Features: Space Race, a group quiz where students “race” across the finish line.

10. Goal: I want to give more feedback to students.
Regardless of which grades and themes you are teaching, grading doesn’t take long. Enter Floop. This tool is a cloud-based website where students receive annotated feedback from you and their classmates. Using an internet-connected device, students upload the assigned image to the platform and place the marker where feedback is needed. Students can view and respond to comments and create feedback loops.

11. Goal: Want to create standards-based assessments more quickly.
Easily create quizzes that students can answer using their mobile devices. The program also includes banks with 60,000 standard-line questionnaires and 300 pre-built ratings.

12. Goal: I want students to create an online portfolio of work.
The portfolio is a great comprehensive assessment tool that allows teachers, students and families to look back on their work collections and measure progress. Paper portfolios can get lost and become difficult to share and evaluate. Instead, try the online version with a program like seesaw.

13. Goal: I want a unique format of a comprehensive evaluation.
This is another type of portfolio rating. However, students not only gather jobs to go, but also use the program to actively create digital books that show what they have learned.

The rubric ensures consistent scoring throughout the assessment. It also makes self-assessment and peer feedback much easier. This online tool allows you to create high-quality rubrics and share them easily with others.

15. Goal: I want to bet on my evaluation.
Escape Room is a really fun way for team students to promote collaboration and communication as they play, and try out evaluations. Students must work together to resolve problems and answer questions before breaking the code as directed. These online escape rooms can be easily constructed using Google Sites or Google Forms. If you don’t want to create your own site, there are many things you can sell on sites like teachers.

16. Goal: I want students to give each other feedback.
Once you have set up your assignments in Peergrad, select the Feedback Rubric (or create your own feed) and select the assignment. Your students will take it from there. They submit jobs, review each other and act on feedback. The best part? There is an overview of the teachers you can see all.
